Welcome! I am an aspiring musician living in South Africa. The sole purpose of making these YouTube covers is to entertain, develop my skills, gain exposure and to share my music with the world. My passion lies in singing, writing and producing music and I'm set to record my debut album independently towards the end of 2008.

Biography
South Africa is about to usher in a brand new superstar who is set to invade the homes of millions in the coming months with his infectious blend of electro pop, dance and edgy style.
A hot new addition to the S.A music scene, Nic Billington is setting an exciting new standard for SA talent and the world alike.
Imagine the results of the combined influences of a youth spent listening to all styles of music from Hip Hop and R'n'B to Dance, Rock and Pop. At only 23 years of age, multi-talented Nic is the cream of a new breed of artist emerging.
Hailing from Durban, Nic spent most of his younger days with his notebook and pen in hand, scribbling his lyrics while laying down melodies on his Dictaphone. He often slipped the protective eye of his mum, venturing out to indulge in his favourite past time: music. While growing up, Nic's tastes were acquired from a diet of Janet Jackson, UB40, Bob Marley, Depechè Mode, Prince and Madonna, courtesy of his close family. He now names Britney Spears, Linkin Park, Aaliyah and local musicians like Tasha Baxter and Flash Republic, as respected all round artists.
What's the verdict?
At 14 years of age Nic started drama lessons and joined the school choir. It was there he met a fellow friend that eagerly shared the same interests in music. Their friendship eventually culminated into the formation of now defunct group, The Verdict. The Verdict enjoyed popular success with their combination style of edgy house music. It wasn't long after, that the duo started receiving a large amount of attention from the public.
The Verdict's unique blend of house, kwaito and dance music was created on their home PC. They sent demos to some of the major record companies only to later be rejected. What would normally shatter the dreams of many aspiring musicians only made them more determined to succeed. East Coast Radio jock, Trevor William discovered the duo and invited them as guests on his show. They were referred to a recording company but failed to record independently because of their financial status.
The two were forced into day jobs to raise money for their album. Nic got a job at an independent record company, where he spent a few years learning the ins and outs of the music business. "It was a real eye opener", he says. "I was really surprised at how difficult it is, not only to get into the industry, but also to maintain your profile and make a success off of it. It's extremely frustrating and very tedious". The Verdict' was put on hold, for what seemed like forever, and this put a huge strain on the group. Both went their separate ways, only to find Nic at the bottom of the chain again.
Nic -- Reloaded
Unperturbed by this minor setback, Nic wasted no time and began networking with producers. He used his business perceptive to slowly build the foundations of his future career as a solo artist.
Nic - On the road
In 2007, Nic started taking vocal lessons at Williams-Ros Studios and performed for his very first time as a solo act in a show at Ushaka Marine World. "The show was called Natural Elements. It was such an amazing experience and I loved every second of it." Thereafter, more corporate gigs followed as he began travelling and performing with various industry peers.
Nic - goes Global
Determined to forge ahead in this cutthroat industry Nic decided to take a different approach when it came to reaching his fans. His ingenious plan of creating covers of popular music videos and broadcasting them on Youtube has gathered Nic a huge fan base worldwide.
By creating covers for YouTube, Nic has managed to obtain almost 100 000 views. Not bad for an independent project that he started by himself, in his room with just a camera and a computer. With the massive online support that he receives, Nic has been making his own breaks in this cut throat industry.
Nic - The future
His immense talent coupled with his charm and youthful enthusiasm will leave you in no doubt that we have a new voice, a new sound and the epitome of an artist for the millennium, a true poet for a new time.
With a highly anticipated album in the making, Nic continues to use his spare time wisely as he is working with a few new and established artists on the scene on a variety of projects set to launch this year
Don't believe the hype, believe the proof.
