Joe's fave versions

The Joe Harvard Band and JH Trio began playing out on a casual basis in 2004, with Jay Walker on bass, and Sarah Tomek or Marcus Croan filling the drum seat. Fort Apache's co-founder and former owner, Joe has appeared on LP's by Dinosaur Jr., Throwing Muses, and the Pernice Brothers, among amny others, and engineers and produces the band's work in quest of the Country Eastern sound: a melding of indie, garage, alt-country song structure with arabic/middle eastern tones. Since the band reformed as a new entity in Asbury Park in March of 2007, the drum throne remains a fluid position, with Marcus and Sarah being joined by Pat Berkery [Bigger Lovers, Pernice Brothers] as regular stickhandlers, along with Jay on bass, Keith Monacchio on acoustic gtr. and vocals, Tony Tedesco on electric and slide guitar, ocassional appearances by Dan Mulvey on upright and electric bass, and Joe Harvard on lead vocals, lap and pedal steel gtrs., bazouki, strumstick, cumbus, and plain old electric guitar. Other instruments used during the recording of their in-progress LP include coral sitar, gtr. synth, quatro, dobro, and electric collander. Guests on the band's recordings include Rachel Ade, Rick Barry, Kerry McNulty, and Lindsey Miller.
