My name is Thomas Nguyen,I have been a self taught animator for 3 years.I am a senior at Southside High School. Computer animation is my passion and I would love to go to Vancouver Film School to further my education.

A Snail Tale was a learning experience for me. I have learned so much by participating in this competition. Even if I do not win, I believe I have become a better animator because of this.

Ah May 20th.

Am I disappointed that I diddn't even get an alternate spot? Of course I am.

Do I regret ever taking on this challenge.

No, not at all.

For a couple weeks this was life: Modeling, Animating, Rendering. Repeat repeat for hours and hours.

I wanted to win so bad. I have nothing else in my life but to do CG. I'm not remotely as good at anything else. Not to say I'm any good at CG. I'm still a learner.

I didn't win. But I walk out of this competition without regret. I have gain skills that will make me a better CG artist in the future.

For those who didn't win. If you have a passion for your trade, don't let something like this effect you. Keep at it. Never give up!
